COWI empowers our customers with important tools within transport planning and offers them consultancy on planning
processes and professional decision support. Our key customers include local authorities, transport authorities, road administration bodies, operators and private developers.

Comprehensive consultancy

COWI's transport planners combine all fields of expertise, drawing on our in-house specialists such as urban planners, economists, construction engineers, legal and communication experts.

We use state-of-the-art tools and methods to design transport models, micro simulations, prioritisation and road accident analyses.

With European Union funding, COWI is supporting the Kenya Government's efforts to improve rural transport infrastructure. The main objective is the formulation study that will provide information and documentation to finance a sound and sustainable project under the transport infrastructure rural roads component.

Climate and environment within transport

Transport is a major source of environmental and climate impact and is necessary for society to function. COWI works to create better understanding of the impacts of climate change on Africa's transport and determine adaptation measures and scenarios for implementation at the scale of developing economies .

In three case countries (Ethiopia, Mozambique and Ghana), COWI is collecting data to establish climate risk profiles of relevance for road transport, analysing the implication on engineering designs and road transport as well as  the economic costs of adaptation.
