Leading consulting group with a 360° approach
COWIs activities in Africa began in Nigeria and Ghana in 1959. Shortly after, in 1965, another permanent office was set up in Dar es Salaam. Today, COWI is providing consultancy to projects in most African countries from Egypt to South Africa.
COWI's five permanent offices throughout the continent offer their local and global knowledge through their local presence and the possibility of drawing on the international experience of the COWI Group's more than 6,000 employees.
In addition to our permanent offices in Tanzania, Zambia, Uganda, Mozambique and Zimbabwe, COWI has activities in most sub-Saharan Africa. In Western Africa, COWI also has a strong presence and a long track record in Ghana, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger and Benin.
COWI's customer group comprises national governments, bilateral and multilateral aid institutions and private customers. Our customers benefit from our local presence and knowledge about the national business environment, resources and market needs and from the close partnerships we enter into.
The services we deliver are mainly within infrastructure development (highways and rural roads), water resource management and water supply, land administration and economics and management.
